Two main forms shape the substrate of the project. First, the size of the former industrial sites is gathered: large elongated plots, planted roads or internal spaces are used as parks or public spaces. Secondly, the mixity of activities is enhanced, taking into account the compatibility of these activities. The housing, the shops, the offices, the commercial activities, a museum, a library, the marketplace and the exhibition hall take part in the definition of a new urban structure. The project is recognizable made by a number of long light elements that can be traversed in different ways, and few high points that build relationships with some other existing high points in the city. This site becomes a new centrality but also and especially the continuation of the historical center of Brescia, one of the oldest in Europe.
